Was McGonagall a member of the Order?
Professor McGonagall is a professor at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, the head of Gryffindor House, the professor of Transfiguration, the Deputy Headmistress under Albus Dumbledore and a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
After the war ended, she was awarded the Order of Merlin by Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt due to her loyalty to the Order of the Phoenix. Once the school overcame the destruction, McGonagall returned to her position as Headmistress of Hogwarts and stayed in the role until at least the 2020-21 school year.
Mundungus Fletcher, Arabella Figg, and Fabian Prewett were absent despite being members. It's most likely there were other members not present for the photo. In the photograph (see parts 1, 2, 3, & 4) found at the Warner Bros.
No, McGonagall wasn't Filch's mom. She never had a child. Filch belonged to a completely different wizarding family and was a squib.
Moaning Myrtle
Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She had no friends, and was bullied relentlessly because of her glasses and acne.
After the Second Wizarding War, Neville Longbottom was known to have taken over the job as Head of Gryffindor.
McGonagall followed up Harry's action by using the Imperius Curse on Amycus before tying him up with a net, rendering him useless during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Even though McGonagall is the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, she's unable to defeat the Potions master. It show's Snape's power. Yet not only does he refuse to fight back, he also seems to deliberately deflect one of McGonagall's spells into the path of two Death Eaters behind him.
Mad-Eye Moody is a Hufflepuff.
The violet-haired Metamorphmagus brought a splash of colour to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We celebrate the chapter where we first met her.
Who betrayed order Phoenix?
The Deathly Hallows Part I begins with a whole bunch of double-crossing and betrayals. Snape betrays the Order of the Phoenix. A guy from the Ministry of Magic becomes a Death Eater, which is probably how the Ministry ends up falling. And that's just the beginning of the movie.
We know that Molly and Arthur weren't part of the Order of the Phoenix during the first war, presumedly because they were busy with their children (Canon & HP Wiki). Molly's brothers (Gideon & Fabian) were part of the Order and were murdered by Death Eaters/Voldemort.
Filch can't be in any house because he is a squib. But if he did magic, he'll probably go straight to Slytherin.
Decades of being around wizard students who reminded him of his inability to produce magic made Filch a bitter man who enjoyed punishing students, almost as revenge for his shortcomings. Dumbledore hired Filch as the Hogwarts caretaker, back in 1968.
Although like a Muggle they can't perform magic, a Squib is often far more integrated in the wizarding world. For while a Muggle is as Muggle can be, with Muggle family members and, well, Muggle everything, one of the main differences with a Squib is that they're related to a witch or wizard, just without the magic.
Hogwarts Years
Rita was sorted into Ravenclaw house during her school years.
Tom was educated at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1938 to 1945, and was Sorted into Slytherin House, a nod to his ancestor Salazar Slytherin himself.
Upon their arrival at Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat placed Snape and Lily into Slytherin and Gryffindor Houses, respectively.
The Head of Slytherin is Horace Slughorn (who left the role to Severus Snape for fifteen years before taking it up again in 1996) and the House's patron ghost is the Bloody Baron.
Harry is the magical Heir of Gryffindor (and he's also a descendent of Godric), Neville of Hufflepuff, Hermione of Slytherin and Luna of Ravenclaw.
Who becomes head of Hufflepuff?
As Head of Hufflepuff, Professor Sprout exemplified the house's traits of compassion and tolerance.
The Killing Curse was created in the early Middle Ages by Dark witches and wizards. Primarily, the curse was used to quickly slay opponents during a duel. In 1707, the Wizards' Council was restructured into the Ministry of Magic, which allowed for more strict restrictions on certain types of magic.
Harry makes use of two of the Unforgivable Curses in the books. Dueling with Bellatrix Lestrange, he attempts the Cruciatus curse, with limited results; Bellatrix says that he has to really hate someone to make the Unforgivable Curses work properly, righteous indignation isn't enough.
Draco Malfoy attempts to use this curse on Harry at one point, but is forestalled by Harry's use of Sectumsempra. Harry uses this curse again on Amycus Carrow, who has just spat at Professor McGonagall. The curse is much more effective this time, as Harry feels hatred towards Carrow.
Harry had a close call during his first Quidditch match when his Nimbus Two Thousand started a strange impromptu dance trying to knock him off. Meanwhile, Hermione noticed Professor Snape muttering with his eyes fixed on Gryffindor's Seeker and, being Hermione, put two and two together.
