We have many reasons for loving the Lord, but are most affected by his loving-kindness when relieved out of deep distress. When a poor sinner is awakened to a sense of his state, and fears that he must soon sink under the just wrath of God, then he finds trouble and sorrow.
The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The LORD protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
Morning Prayer. Psalm 116. I am well pleased : that the Lord hath heard the voice of my prayer; 2 That he hath inclined his ear unto me : therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints: This psalm celebrates the deliverance from death, but the singer knew that death is still a reality for every one of God's saints. When that day comes, God holds the death of His people as a precious thing.
The Lord means for us to guard our hearts by filtering our emotions, desires, thoughts, and responses through his Word. He is the watchman that protects our souls.
a. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD: This is a remarkably fitting conclusion to this psalm and to the entire Book of Psalms. Being thankful is so easy when the sun is shining down on us and so difficult when the storms of life are raging all around us.

When we find ourselves in the midst of difficult times it is of utmost importance that we hear from others that these times can be endured, survived, and overcome, due to God's care and provision. The psalm itself serves not only as witness to what God has done but as the thanksgiving and praise that is due to God.

What does set me as a seal upon your heart as a seal upon your arm mean?
The woman asks to be set as a seal on the heart and arm of her husband, referring to his feelings and attitudes as well as his actions (Song 8:6). Essentially, she wants to be bound not to just a part of him but to all that he is. This is because of the strength of her love and her jealousy for him.
This picture of our Lord's long train represents His even greater conquering power over all evil compared to an earthly king conquering one enemy. Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would come to provide a way to have our sins forgiven and that has now been fulfilled!
Both repenting and believing require that we turn to the Lord with broken hearts and contrite spirits. The word for “heart” in Hebrew refers to the “inner man” or “will.” To have a broken heart means that we are willing to put off the natural man and yield our will to God's will.
Through Jesus, God heals the broken heart. Lying Prostrate Before God :: No position symbolizes humility better than being on our faces before God. It is an acknowledgement of our total unworthiness. When God made a covenant with Abraham, Abraham recognized his unworthiness before God and “fell on his face” before the Lord. ( See Genesis 17:1–22)
In an effort to live a holy live, it means that we should be deliberate in being distinct from those who do not know Christ. Our God is different from all so-called other Gods, therefore we must live according to His will and give Him glory. It was God's original plan for his creation to be like Him.
In the New Testament the laying on of hands was associated with Christ healing the sick (Luke 4:40) and after his ascension, the receiving of the Holy Spirit (See Acts 8:14–19).
Keeping God's Commandments and the Faith of Jesus.
