Jesus commands His disciples in every circumstance to treat people the same way we want them to treat us. This is both a distillation of everything He has been teaching throughout His Sermon on the Mount, and a distillation of the Old Covenant delivered through Moses.
Does the Golden Rule only apply to Christianity?
This maxim, known as “the golden rule” of ethics, is sometimes portrayed as an exclusively Christian concept. But it can be found in different guises in all world religions, as well as in secular teaching.

So many different issues that we discuss around an election. What would they look like if we were truly selflessly, sacrificially, loving others as ourselves. So Jesus, we pray that these two commandments would inform, transform, drive us in every way during these days.
